Research & Development

Specific features of the equipment manufactured by “ZAVOD GORELTEX” Co. Ltd. (former “CORTEM-GORELTEX” Co. Ltd.) always require that the parameters of the released equipment are strictly in line with operation conditions at hazardous industrial facilities and harsh climatic conditions. We are experienced in the production of electrical equipment for cryogenic systems with ultralow temperatures and electrical equipment for gas turbine installations with ultrahigh temperatures.

We perform climatic testing in our own R&D laboratory located in the territory of the explosion-proof equipment plant, in various climatic chambers at temperatures from -80°С to +250°С and in furnaces at the temperature up to +1200°С.

Having substantial experimental facilities, our R&D laboratory conducts complex researches in order to have an opportunity today to offer products to the consumer that comply with the requirements of tomorrow.

As a result, we have accumulated a wide experience in testing of our equipment and materials for the retention of operating characteristics and continuous operation during the whole warranty period and for the compliance with TU and GOST R requirements.

Innovative products are created by GORELTEX scientific staff, engineers and specialists based on its own scientific achievements and fast developing foreign technologies. High level of expertise of our specialists and experience in the development and manufacture of explosion-proof equipment enable us to provide the best possible solutions to the client.

Explosion-proof equipment design is carried out in 6D format that conforms to modern engineering principles. 6D design of an industrial facility makes it possible to model the integration of 3D models of explosion-proof equipment in hazardous areas of industrial facilities taking into account all negative environmental effects. 6D design ensures the forecasting of the equipment operation during the whole life cycle of the equipment and the detection of any possible emergency situations and ways to avoid them, as well as it provides the possibility to repair, reconstruct, preserve, dismantle and dispose of the equipment. Creation and implementation of the information system of multidimensional modeling of hazardous industrial facilities will help to increase the design accuracy and, consequently, to transfer financial and time efforts to the early stages of the project, where the cost of error and expenditures are exponentially lower.

Electromagnetic compatibility testing (EMC) is carried out in our R&D laboratory. Qualified staff of the laboratory are in charge of EMC issues within the framework of practical researches and recommendations on how to improve the interference suppression systems and interference resistance of explosion-proof equipment.

We carry out various electrical and technical tests by ourself, including high-voltage and light and technical tests, hydraulic and pneumatic tests, as well as acoustic tests and vibrodiagnostics, heat monitoring of the permitted dissipated power and surface heating temperature of the equipment. Also, we test switching capacity, thermal and dynamic resistance to short circuit current, mechanical wear-resistance, as well as electrical insulation strength. Along with the independent R&D company NANIO CCVE and other Russian laboratories, we perform tests of Exd enclosures for non-transmission of internal ignition

All measuring instruments of R&D laboratory undergo mandatory calibration in the National Service of Legal Metrology and have valid certificates; testing equipment is attested in accordance with GOST R 8.568-97.

Current R&D projects:

Researches in the field of control of explosion wave energy distribution to maximally reduce the explosion pressure on the walls of Exd enclosures and to maintain the enclosure integrity.

In general, we distinguish primary and secondary measures of explosion protection. The aim of the primary explosion protection is to avoid an explosion by means of protective measures, while the secondary protection is focused on limiting the devastating effects of the explosion occurred. This includes design features that increase the safety level of our installations, for example, construction of explosion-resistant elements or elements resistant to explosion shock wave. Other measures to reduce explosion pressure, to suppress the explosion or eliminate the connection between elements of the installation are used to ensure the maximum level of operating reliability.

Based on the results of the research on explosion wave distribution, utility model No. 121361 “Flameproof Enclosure” was obtained, issued by the Federal Service for Intellectual Property (Rospatent).

Based on the results of the research on explosion wave distribution, patent No. 2486463 on the invention “Method to limit the explosion impact and flameproof enclosure” was obtained, issued by the Federal Service for Intellectual Property (Rospatent).

Also, an application was filed to the Federal Service for Intellectual Property to obtain the patent on the invention “Flame-Proof Enclosure”.
