Polyurethane compound is intended for complete sealing of cable glands and consists of two components: main (A) and hardening agent (B).

CHARACTERISTICS
Two-component black polyurethane resin (after mixture of components).
Curing time – 4 hours.
Time for catalyzing – 24 hours.

PREPARATION OF PARTS FOR POTTING AND ASSEMBLY

The surface of parts potted by liquid compound shall be cleaned with metal brush from impurities, shavings and rust. It is possible to use sand blasting.

The surface of parts cleaned by metal brush shall be wiped by clean cloths.

The period between surface treatment to enclosure encapsulation shall not exceed 24 hours.

At wintertime, for the purpose of accelerating polymerization of compound it is reasonable to heat the potted part to +18 +200С.

PREPARATION FOR POTTING

The proportion of A and B components is A : B - 3 : 1 (by weight).

Component A shall be mixed by palette-knife to reduce sediment avoiding large amount of air, which may lead to foaming of the composition. That is why it is required to tightly close the container with A component  immediately after mixing, or after taking another portion. Container with B component should also be tightly closed.

It is required to pot B component into container with A component and mix them carefully during 3-5 minutes manually or by means of a drill with blade mixer avoiding air and undermixing until you get homogeneous mix.

It is required to mix components in warm area at temperature +18...+20°С in close vicinity to the assembled part in which the mixture should be potted.

The potting mixture shall be immediately used as intended since the pot life of the mixture does not exceed 30 minutes, after that the composition becomes more viscous and its penetrating capacity is decreasing.

POTTING AND CURING

Potting into assembled part shall be carried out through funnels by portions not exceeding 5 kg of compound. The period between potting of another portion shall not exceed 15-20 minutes.

When the compound comes out of the hole, the potting is completed.

Curing takes 4-5 hours and depends on the temperature during curing process. The composition becomes solid in 24 hours. Afterwards, the assembled part may be operated. Also, the compound becomes chemically resistant in 24 hours.

SAFETY MEASURES

Component A
- in case of skin contact may cause skin irritation.
- in case of skin contact, rinse skin with lots of water with soap.
- it is required to put on protective gloves and to protect eyes and face.

Component B
- dangerous when inhaled.
- may cause allergic reaction when inhaled.
- in case of inhalation, skin and eye contact may cause irritation.
- in case of eye contact, immediately rinse skin with lots of water and ask for medical assistance.
- in case of skin contact, rinse skin with lots of water with soap.
- it is required to use a respirator in poorly ventilated areas.
- in case of injuries or if you feel bad, immediately ask for medical assistance.
